The government will never "push" (ie tas incentives) for anything that places their revenue steam (taxes on coal, oil and gas). Forget it.

Unfortunately it will take years for everyone to learn the truth you stated so eloquently. The Marketing hype for hybrids and electric is out of control. The science and economics will long outlast this fad.

10 years from now, when we run out of nickel and lithium driving the cost of replacement batteris to $20K and the landfills are poluted with old replaced batteries, I'll still be driving my pickup with domestic diesel …

DIESEL Half-ton Pickups please! 30mpg is easy, diesel is more efficient and easier to produce, increasing demand will bring down fuel price
